FAQ
Question 1. Do you provide In-home lessons, in your studio or online lessons?
We provide in-home lessons, in our studio lessons, and online lessons. In-home lessons with John-Paul are for the residents of SAN DIEGO. Outside the San Diego are, we provide lessons through one of our partners.
The great thing about these in-home lessons is that these guitar or piano lessons are 100% customized to each student to match the student's learning preferences. In that way the learning process is faster as last forever.
In-home lessons are the best way to start learning Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Piano or Keyboard. All questions are answered on the spot.
Question 2. What if I don't live in San Diego?
If you don't live in the San Diego County area, you can choose an instructor that is close to you. We work with partners that can provide instructors for every city and every instrument.
Before starting the program you will be asked to fill out a short questionnaire that will tell us in what level you are. With that information we can plug you in on the correct program.
Question 3. What are the options to schedule the In-Home Guitar/Piano lessons?
(I live in San Diego)
You can schedule your lesson Monday through Friday, from 9:00am to 9:00pm, or Saturdays from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Please provide us with some options in case your first one is not available at the time you sign in. Once you sign for a time slot, the instructor will come to your place every week, unless otherwise agreed.
We can change the time slot at any time and for any reason (like football practice, dance, etc.), so student can continue with his/her Guitar or Piano in-home lessons.
Question 4. What if I have to cancel for some reason?
We take cancellation notices with at least 24 hours in advance. However, for those situations when you don't have time to call (student is sick, you had to leave for a last minute meeting, etc.), we work with you. If we knock on your door, we charge for the lesson, either you open the door or not. If you don't open the door due to an unplanned event, we will still charge you but will give you a make up lesson (15 more minutes in the following 2 sessions). This is a good way to keep the commitment of the student, which is good for the student.
Question 5. Are these Guitar and Piano Lessons only for Children?
No. We offer our Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Piano and Keyboard lessons to students 4-5 years old and up. We love to have adults taking music since we know that the brain deteriorates as we age. Music is one of the best alternatives to increase the brain plasticity so new neurons are created.
Question 6. How old need to be my child to start with Guitar or Piano lessons?
That depends on your child. Our Co founder, John-Paul, has been teaching Guitar and Piano to children age 2 at preschools in California and overseas. Most of them don't resonate with music. A few, however, have this gift. It is like breathing for them, so easy and so part of their life.
Expose your child to a guitar or a small keyboard (or piano). Se his/her eyes and his/her body language. If you see excitement any time the child is with the instrument, then call us. We will have one session and find if the child has the gift.
Question 7. What is the best age to start taking Piano or Guitar lessons?
When your child is 4-5 years old. The earlier, the better, since they absorb information around them like sponges.
Question 8. What kind of styles do you teach on your Guitar/Piano lessons?
We teach all styles and focus on the one the student has a preference for. We also like to teach our students to play the songs they like since that keeps them motivated.
Question 9. What are the fees?
Lessons are $30 for 30 minutes.
There are no other fees. In that way we made music education more affordable for families since every penny spend is in the education, not in administrative fees.
Discount for siblings. Due to the high demand of our in-home piano lessons and or in-home guitar lessons, we are not offering any siblings discount at this point, but we offer group lessons at a $15 per child for groups 2-4, so if you have three children, you will pay only $45.
Question 10. Do you have a studio where you teach these Piano and Guitar lessons?
Yes. John-Paul's studio is located in La Mesa, California, but we can provide you with instructors that teach in their studio and are close to your home.
Question 11. How do I pay?
We take cash and personal checks. You can pay after each lesson, or you can pay for the whole month in advance.
